Oscar Zahn: The Hollow Shores

I've never been very interested in talking about my stories, particularly when I'm in the middle of the messy process of actually creating it. Often times it feels like I'm trying to describe each brush stroke I'm laying down for a painting whose image I'm not even clear on.
For this new Oscar Zahn story, it's been particularly hard because I haven't worked in this world for quite a number of years. I've written numerous outlines and had a number of talks with my editor but if I'm honest, I have to admit that I'm usually still pretty lost until I start roughing in the first page of the comic
To put it succinctly as I can, I won't know if the comic I'm making is worth making until I start making the comic.
That's probably not a grand revelation and I suspect that's true for most endeavours. We prepare the best we can and then we just start and adapt as we go along.
The Hollow Shores
I knew I wanted to do a story called "The Hollow Shores" for many years but I also had no idea what this story was about. The name just felt right for an Oscar Zahn adventure.
I don't usually write Oscar Zahn stories this way. Usually there's a concept I'm interested in and then much later on, I come up with a suitable name. This time around, the name came first because I felt there was something to the name that would serve as a guiding light to the story.
So what is the Hollow Shores and what will the story be about? Well... I can't really tell you right now.
Partly because I don't want to spoil things for you and partly because I'm still trying to discover it for myself. What I can say is this:
The Hollow Shores lies at the end of the Astral Ocean. And it's a story of something lost trying to be found.
Here's a sneak peak:
